Help a Struggling Dharma Student

I am 62 years old, born Oct. 6 1946, a Libra. I was born in Chicago IL and grew up both in the city and the suburbs of Chicago. I am the oldest of 5 Adamik kids (Jim Adamik, Sr) growing up in Chicago. I was the oldest. My younger brother, John, died in 1992, and I have another younger brother Dan, and 2 younger sisters Pattie and Mary Ann.

At 15, my parents moved to California, where I spent the next few years in the San Jose area. I had the pleasure to spend most of the 60's including the "Hippie" era in and around San Jose, Los Gatos, Sunnyvale, and all of the now famous Silicon Valley area of California. I have worked as a Shipping and Receiving Clerk, Route Driver, Delivery Man, Telephone Customer Service Rep., along with Outside Direct Sales, Retail Sales & Management, Sales Crew Management, Cold Call Selling, Door To Door, and Telemarketing, to name just a few!

When I was 21, I moved to Southern California, and was a Valley Guy - San Fernando Valley. Have you heard of the "Sherman Oaks Galleria"? Well in the 70's, it was THE place for... Fur Shur.... like Totally! and "Gag Me with a Spoon" girls. I have lived in Hollywood, Los Angeles, Burbank, North Hollywood, Saugus, Van Nuys, and . . . Reno, Denver, Brooklyn, New Jersey, and Chicago, also Hot Springs, North Carolina, Arkansas, Oregon and San Diego, California.

Some "Interesting" places I have visited are Southern California Renaissance Faire from 1989 to 1999, in fact the first few years it was held at the Old Paramount Ranch location in Thousand Oaks, California. I have also been to Fort Lauderdale, Florida during Easter Vacation where 1000's of College kids party nonstop for a few weeks (WOW!). Carmel, California . . . could never find Clint Eastwood's Restaurant, Hearst Castle, The Rosicrucian Temple in San Jose, Elvis Presley's house in the "Truesdale Estates of Beverly Hills (just dropped somebody off there), almost EVERY tourist trap in Hollywood, and ALL amusement parks in So Cal . . . way to many times! And once I even took a 3-day cruise to Encinada Mexico (non WOW!) Yes, they do serve a LOT of food on that ship, but as you can see - I have no place to put all that food. In the past couple of years I have also been to Washington D.C., Taos New Mexico, Todos Santos B.C., Arkansas, La Paz B.C. Mexico, Cabo San Lucas, and Oregon - WHEW!

I lived in Southern California, Lancaster to be exact, for 14 years, but have been traveling the USA for the last 6 years. Lancaster is in the "Antelope Valley" part of Los Angeles County and the place that the B-2 "Stealth" Bomber and the F-117A (Bat Plane) is made, and where the Space Shuttle lands. Almost EVERY week we have the opportunity to see these planes flying, and some with NO name or designation on them ;) fly overhead REAL, REAL LOW!
